About
Built by someone who used to sell the ad.
I'm Dan Merchant. Before I wrote software, I started The New Agora, an independent newspaper in Vancouver, BC. For three years I sold its advertising and designed the ads for the businesses that bought space.
What three years of ads taught me
The ads that worked all had one thing in common: the promise was still there when the customer walked in. Same offer, same words, same reason to buy. When the ad said one thing and the business said another, the money was wasted, however good the ad was.
Why Lens exists
Online, it's the same problem. You pay for a click on a specific promise, and the visitor lands on a page written for nobody in particular.
Building a landing page per campaign fixes that on paper. In practice nobody keeps a dozen near-identical pages up to date, and nobody can tell you afterwards whether they helped. Lens is the other way to do it: one page, copy that carries the ad's promise for each campaign, and a control group that tells you whether it was worth it.
Made in Nova Scotia
Lens is built by FoundryOS, a founder-led software company in Nova Scotia, Canada. FoundryOS builds custom operational platforms for businesses whose work does not fit off-the-shelf software, and Lens comes out of the same shop.
The copy options are written with Anthropic's Claude models, the script runs on your site, and every campaign change waits for a person to approve it. This site runs the same Lens snippet you would install on yours.
